Treatment Modalities:

I am well-versed in many approaches so that I can serve your unique needs. The techniques I most often utilize are derived from CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and trauma-informed approaches, including mind-body techniques. I will provide education on the techniques discussed in session, including when and how to practice, and will email you resources on the techniques or topics discussed if appropriate or desired.

Therapeutic Style:

I focus on building relationships with my clients and making them feel as comfortable as possible during sessions. While we may talk about difficult topics, therapy does not have to be serious all the time. We can use laughter (as appropriate) and shared interests, such as pets or sports, to make the therapeutic experience more enjoyable. I focus on meeting my clients where they are at and help them create change through "baby steps." Change is hard and can be scary. I want my clients to be successful so we collaboratively agree on small changes they can make to increase their chances of meeting their goals. 

What to Expect in Therapy: 

The first session will focus on getting to know you, understanding your concern(s), and gathering some background information. We will identify and agree upon goals, as well as how often we will meet. We will schedule those follow up appointments at the end of session so you are more likely to get your preferred time, as well as the agreed upon cadence. In follow up sessions, you can expect that I will ask about updates since our last session, continue to build our relationship and rapport, and work towards the agreed upon goals.  

I want you to know that I recognize how difficult it can be to start therapy and work towards change. Because of this, I work with my clients at a pace they are comfortable with to meet their goals. Note on sessions and HIPAA: 

All sessions are held online or virtually. Your privacy and psychological safety are of utmost priority to me; therefore, I take HIPAA very seriously. My office door is always closed, and my laptop and documentation are in a secure location/password protected. I pay extra to have my business cell and website HIPAA compliant.
